Secretary’s Report
May 7th, 2012 BOG Meeting minutes table. Passed.
Treasurer’s Report
Stephen reported that the financial reports are posted on Google Docs. Stephen explained the various May reports.
Stephen reported that the revenue was down from previous year and he was investigating. We are tracking close to last year’s results. Jim Garcia questioned the $4000 reduction on the Entry Fee line of the P&L. Stephen said he would investigate and report to the BOG.

Steve reported that he went to Russia as USA team manager for the world race walk championships and it was a wonderful experience.
He reported that the Bedford NH 12k had 300 more entries than the previous year and the winner set a course record.
The Wednesday mini-meets had low attendance for the first one and the second was well attended; therefore, there will be a third this Wednesday.
The Wachusett Mt race, second race in the Mountain Running Circuit, was on Saturday of the Memorial Day weekend and BOG member Joan Bohlke won the women’s division.
He reported that the on line entries for the open, JO and Masters meets are up and accepting entries.
Steve will be at the Mass. middle school championships at the UMass Lowell track this weekend. He and Tom Petranoff will staff a table. The number of entries is up from last year.
He participated on the Associations conference call which discussed the upcoming workshop and the impact of the new USATF CEO.
The 2013 Associations Grant for Hammer Throw development funding was completed by Steve and Bob Cedrone, and submitted on time. Steve Viegas had submitted the closing materials for the 2010 Associations which allows us to submit a request for a 2013 grant.
The Track & Field Championship will be on June 17, and the Junior Olympic Championship on June 23.
The BOG interviewed Will Feldman to fill the vacant Athletes Representative position.
New Business
Justin reported that he met with Zack, a rep from Google that demonstrated the Google Plus Hangouts application. Justin said he would get more info for the BOG.
Steve Vaitones suggested we need to begin planning for the Association Annual Meeting and that the Doubletree Hotel was too expensive last year. A discussion followed with suggestions on alternate sites with no conclusion.
Steve Viegas suggested the issue would be on the agenda for the next executive meeting scheduled for July.
There was a discussion about the day of week for the meeting and the consensus was to hold the meeting on a Sunday, no date was voted upon.
Jim Garcia reported the date for the Association Banquet is set for Jan 12th.
Dan Hocking gave an update on the status of X-country due to the closing of Franklin Park this year. BAA is working on the Mayors Cup. The Codfish Bowl is looking to utilize the Tufts course in Grafton MA.
The Athlete of the Month for May 2012 is Matt Pelletier, winner of the Vermont City Marathon
Steve Viegas reported he would ask for Mike Toomey’s resignation.
Sports Chairs Reports
Lisa reported the Bedford race had 500 entries, which was an increase of 160 over last year.
Also the Newton 10k is this upcoming weekend.
Courtney Bird said he would again maintain the Ironrunner lists and obtain the Ironman jackets.
Steve Vaitones suggested a conference call would be beneficial for the LDR Chairs.
Joan Bohlke reported she competed in the two of the MUT series events and enjoyed the races.
Justin reported the Portsmouth NH race walk and clinic was lightly attended. The Association was awarded the Canadian American Junior Meet for 2013
Mike Travers reported the upcoming July 21 masters meet in RI is on track and he hopes for 150 entries this year.
