Welcome to the 2001 USA Track & Field One
& Two Hour Racewalk Championships
The New England Walkers and the New England association of
USA Track & Field (USATF) welcome you to these
championship races. This is the twelfth consecutive year that
the events have been hosted in the New England association
and we are proud to offer this opportunity for top
competition to athletes of all abilities. Over the years, we
have been fortunate to witness athletes setting several
national records, including the 25-kilometer and two-hour
marks by Allen James in 1994.

information,and an entry form. Please

| This race, among the largest
women-only running events in the USA, is also the USA
Track & Field 10K Running National Championship. For

Racewalk Awards
Individual: USA Championship medals will be awarded
to the first three American individuals in each Open
division, to the first three in each 5-year age group for
Masters, and to the first three Juniors.
Teams: USA Championship medals to the first three
scoring members of winning teams in the following divisions:
Junior, Open, and Masters. Teams must declare on race day
prior to the start of the contest race. Only one team per
club may score.

Directions
| FROM THE EAST |
| Take Mass. Turnpike (I-90) to Exit 11A (I-495).
Proceed north to I-290, then west into Worcester. Take
Exit 18, turn right at end of ramp, then an immediate
right before next traffic light. At next light, proceed
straight though, bearing to the right on Salisbury St. At
the WPI sign, turn left onto Boynton St., then right onto
Institute Rd., then right onto West St. Park in the main
lot. The track (and football stadium) are down below the
parking lot. |

| FROM THE NORTH |
| Take I-495 south to I-290. Follow directions as from
east. |
| |
| FROM THE SOUTH AND WEST |
| Take Mass. Turnpike (I-90) to Exit 10 (Auburn).
Proceed east on I-290 into Worcester. Take Exit 17, turn
left at end of ramp, follow Rte. 9 west through Lincoln
Sq., straight onto Highland St.,then right at light onto
West St. and through first intersection. Visitor parking
is on the left after the footbridge. |

| If you are flying in, the Worcester Regional Airport
(888-359-9672) may be your best bet. Other nearby
airports include Logan Airport (BOSTON) and Green Airport
(PROVIDENCE.) By rail, AMTRAK stops in Worcester. By
commuter rail, MBTA

Miscellaneous Information
- Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your race
starts.
- Each participant may walk in one race only.
- All competitors are required to present their 2001
USATF membership card. If you need a membership
application,
click here to signup on-line. Or click here and include the completed
application and payment with the race entry form.
- Water will be provided during each race. A fluid
replacement drink will be available in the Senior Men's
2-Hour race only.
- Volunteer lap counters will be provided, but you are
encouraged to bring your own.
- Results with lap time sheets will be mailed to all
competitors.
- Drug Testing: Athletes who participate in this
competition may be subject to formal drug testing in
accordance with USA Track & Field rules and IAAF Rule
144. Some prescription and over-the-counter medications
contain banned substances. Information regarding drugs and
drug testing may be obtained by calling the USOC Hotline at
800/233-0393.
