BOSTON PREPS FOR INDOOR NATIONALS
The Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center, which
has produced over 200 masters World and US indoor
records in the eight previous editions of the USA
Masters Championships held here, is expected to see
even more new record marks in
2010 as another 800 competitors come to Boston. The meet
will be hosted and managed by the New England
Association of USATF, reprising their role in the
1998, 2000, 2002-2004, and 2006-2008 Indoor
Nationals.
The 2010 meet is the fourteenth time that
the Championships will be held in New England, the first
time being in 1975 (Tufts University, Medford MA)
with approximately 100 participants. In 1981, about
200 competitors met at M.I.T. in Cambridge MA. Meet
management in 1997, 1999, and 2001 was by TRACS, Inc.
In 1998, the fourth year of competition in Boston and
first organized by the New England Association of USA
Track & Field, the meet had a record 817
entrants.
