Race Information

All competitors are required to have 2010 USATF membership prior to the start of their race. If you need a membership application, contact USATF – New England at office@usatfne.org. You may also include the completed application and payment with your race entry form.

All championship entrants will receive a commemorative race item

Water will be provided during each race.

Volunteer lap scorers will be provided, but you are encouraged to bring your own and/or to volunteer for the race you are not entered in. Click here to print a blank lap scoring sheet.

Correct lap scoring is crucial to the success of the hour. Here's an example of a completed lap scoring sheet. In the example, the lap scorer wrote the minutes and seconds of each lap in the box and then calculated and recorded the split time of each lap. Knowing the split times will help prevent errors. Be sure to sign the lap scoring sheet and to return it to the lap scoring chief.

There will be toilet facilities, but no showers or locker rooms at the race site.

Male race walkers may continue walking after the hour up to 15,000 meters. Walkers that want to continue walking after one hour must declare their intent in writing before the start and notify their lap scorer. No times will be recorded after 1 hour and 25 minutes. There are no awards for completing the 15,000 meter walk.

- USA Championship medals will be awarded to the top 3 female and male finishers in each division (Junior, Open, Masters), and top 3 teams in each division.
- Cash awards to top 3 overall eligible championship athletes, male and female - $100 / $75 / $50.
- Prize of $75 to winning overall men's and women's teams
- Lots of raffle prizes

Volunteer Opportunities

This event would not be possible without the help of volunteers. Please contact either race co-directors if you can volunteer to help with registration, food, water table, lap scoring, officiating, or post-race festivities.
