2012 Massachusetts Middle School
4th Annual Cross Country Invitational

Saturday, November 3, 2012
Tewksbury MA
Sponsored by the Boston Athletic Association

Information as of October 17

USA Track & Field - New England will host the fourth annual Massachusetts Middle School Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, November 3, 2012.

There is no organization that deals with middle school athletics in Massachusetts, so despite the existance of very active cross country programs in those grades, there is no capstone event to a season. This meet, through USA Track & Field - New England, fills that gap.

The meet will return to Tewksbury at the town's recreation fields in 2012, with support of town officials.
The course is easily accessible off of Rt I-93 (Dascomb Rd. exit).

The 2012 meet is sponsored by the Boston Athletic Association
All participants will receive a commemorative item

This meet provides an opportunity for middle school runners in grades 5-8.
It is open to all schools - public, parochial, private, and charter - and home schoolers in those grades are welcome to compete as well. This is a school-based competition, not club-based; runners' affiliations will be listed as their schools.

The format will be the same as last year - boys and girls races for grades 5/6, grade 7, grade 8, and a team 'championship' race.
There will be only one team race each for both boys and girls.

We appreciate your interest in and support of this continually-growing event.
